Excellent local pubs

The Gun – 01825 872 361 – Just half a mile up the road (turn right out of the farm), a pretty pub with great food and the local Harveys Ale on tap. Mention Hawthbush Farm to get 10% off. There is a cross country walk, but it does take longer. See the landranger OS map for details.

Six Bells, Chiddingly – 01825 872 227– Cracking spit and sawdust local pub which is sweaty fun and busy, our favourite. Great cheap food and live music on Fri / Sat nights. They don’t make them like this anymore and I would seriously recommend a visit. Take a left out of the farm and the first right to Muddles Green, keep going for a mile till you get to the pub.

Also ferret out The Ram Inn in Firle (great food and walks, BN8 6NS, 01273 858222) The Star in Old Heathfield, (great food, TN21 9AH 01435 863570) The Star in Waldron (TN21 0RA, 01435 812495). The Kings Head in East Hoathly (microbrewery, BN8 6DR 01825 840238). If you need a sky football fix the closest is the Cuckoo’s Rest in Hellingly (BN27 4EU, 01323 440745).

Walks

The attached map shows a number of nice walks around the farm of different lengths. Do please remember to close any gates, and keep any children supervised when about the farm. There are many great local walks, you can borrow a local landranger OS map if you want from the farmhouse.
